from Nice and shiny but not so dependable I have 2 Powerbolts, first one I was happy about it I was able to use this unit for 3 yrs, but the top button "1 &2" would not respond, no problem, I just re programmed code without using the two numbers, and it works fine, saw one in Menards and picked one up to replace old unit, replacement was easy enough. but guess what? top buttons stopped working again and now the lock button "middle button" stopped working too!, I have to use my key to lock the door, no troubleshooting guides anywhere other than if it beeps change the keypad, if it does not beep change the power board. Tired of this brand and I will look at other competitors out there.Nice looking unit but performance is bleh!

from Not happy. Sorry. I used it for a while, then it woke me up one night with beeping noises. Of course, I changed the batteries, brand new out of the box batteries. The beeping continued. I finally pulled batteries and have not used it as intended since. I wish it would work, but since I stopped using it, I have not been awaken by beeps at night. Funny how the beeping only happened at night.

from Problems with 3 out of 5 I purchased five Powerbolts. Three have given me problems. One.. the mechanical mechanism failed and it was replaced under warranty. The second one will close but the keys will only work the first, third and fifth key punch. The third one, the electronics will work but the mechanism will neither open nor close. I'm using the key override at the moment on two of them.

from So nice NOT to have to carry my key I have had my Kwikset Powerbolt in Brass on my front door for about 3 years. It has functioned flawlessly except for the one time it needed replacement batteries--easy to do. The only thing missing that would make this a perfect door lock is a note on the inside of the lock giving me the link to the Website for periodically changing the codes.

from LOVE the keyless access! We have these Powerbolt Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt locks on our back porch door and the basement utility room door. They work well as long as you remember to change the batteries once a year. If the batteries corrode, you may as well buy a new lock. We learned this lesson and now have purchased duplicate back-ups in case of failure.

from Great Product bad interior options As with the whole Kwikset line, which I have used for four different homes this year the product is awesome. On this particular model though the interior door side product is limited to an ugly plastic gray colored mechanism cover with no options for high gloss gold or silver finishes. If you are looking for ugly go for this model.

from Good Lock I have been using this lock for about 10 years. I wore off the numbers, and since the lock is guaranteed Kwikset sent me a new touch pad immediately. I am so used to the convenience of the touch pad, that I have to admit to having lost the keys. This is a great lock, and I have been very pleased.

from Love not needing my key! I seem to misplace my keys a lot.This was easy to install (single woman) and my guests can enter without having a key. Easy to change the code when necessary. Plus my landlord still has a key to use if necessary so I don't need to update them with the new code when it is changed. Great value.

Hello CHAIBUB,The handing needs to be set on the unit. Remove the battery cover on the interior side of the door. Under the batteries on the right side of the unit there will be a jumper peg. This peg is on prongs marked A, B, and C. If the prong in covering the A and B pull the prong off and cover B and C. If the prong is covering B and C pull the prong off and cover A and B. I have a door with deadbolt and there is glass next to deadbolt. Seems like deadbolts are setup for key in the exterior and turn buckle on the interior. Are there touch pads available for the interior to replace the turn buckle?

I've been adjusting the door direction jumper and can't get the lock to cooperate. It either "locks" the door or "unlocks" the door - not both. What am I doing wrong?
