 How do I remove Paired Smartphones using the Kwikset App?

This FAQ is designed to help you manage paired devices on your Kwikset lock. Whether you need to remove an old smartphone or troubleshoot connectivity issues, these steps ensure your lock stays secure and functions properly.

1. Go to the specific lock card on the app dashboard for which you want to remove the paired smartphone. Please note: Paired devices can only be viewed when the user is in Bluetooth range of the lock.
2. Tap on the Lock Settings icon to the right of the lock name. 



3. Tap on Paired Devices under Information



4. Tap on the x to the right of paired device name you’d like to remove.
5. Tap on Remove Pairing. The Paired Device will no longer appear under the Device List.
Please note:
   • Only the lock Owner can remove devices.
   • Users cannot remove the current device.



Troubleshooting Tips

If Failed to Remove Paired Device, click OK and this could be the reason:
   • Your lock is not synched with the Kwikset app.

Try the following steps to troubleshoot:
   1. Remove and reinstall the batteries in the lock to refresh the connection to the cloud. Relaunch the Kwikset app to ensure your phone and lock are paired.
   2. For Aura and Halo locks, troubleshoot your Bluetooth connection here.
   3. For the Halo only, troubleshoot your Wi-Fi connection to the lock, click here.
