How to reinstall a 816 deadbolt cylinder after it has been reset?

  1. Rotate cover to the proper cylinder hole
  2. Reinsert cylinder as follows:
For Occupant Cylinder: Insert cylinder, aligning the torque blade with the opening in the bottom gear of the gear assembly (see Figure D). Make sure the keyway of cylinder is slightly below the surface of the cover when fully inserted.
For Control Cylinder: Rotate the top gear of the gear assembly so that the round of opening is at the top. Rotate the short torque blade of the control cylinder so that it aligns with the opening in the top gear. Insert cylinder making sure the keyway of cylinder is slightly below the surface of the cover when fully inserted.
  3. Secure cylinder with clip.
  4. Insert housing mechanism into the cylinder guard and cover.
  5. Place exterior and interior assemblies back on door
