  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the lock system Original lock drained the recommended batteries within 6 weeks. We just received the new replacement lock and had it installed. So far it works excellent. Will advise if this lock drains the batteries! Hopefully, that will not be the case.

This is one of a few locks that allow for opening by a key, a touch screen ID and a phone app. The screen cracked after 2 years due to sun exposure. Kwikset honored the lifetime warranty by sending me a new unit. The long screws into door jam actually helped prevent a door break-in by a thief through the front door. It'd be nice to add Alexa support in the future without requiring Kevo plus hub. Battery replacement now requires removing/installing 3 screws. This would be nice to do away this screw removal.

The lock arrived faster than I though and is better than the one replaced. I'm kind of thinking the original wasn't right from the beginning. This lock is great, love it.

    My lock indicates zero Battery power even though new batteries. The iPhone access the lock but, with low battery I cannot lock or unlock

    My screen has started cracking in the sun. I've seen other reviews on Amazon stating the same thing happened to them. Anyone else have this problem and know how to get it replaced?

    I bought a house and it has a kwikset 919 premis trl 15 smt. I have no idea how to use this lock, do I need to factory reset it? How do I get it connected to my phone (even bluetooth is fine) if I don't have an apple tv? The premis app does not work.

The reset instructions can be found on page 10 of the installation instructions provided below. http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/BDHHI/5066070 After the reset, you would need the unique code that is provided on the Quick Install Card can also be located on the label that is attached to the interior side panel.     When I first use the lock in the morning, the keypad pauses or locks up for up to 10 seconds or more before responding again. After first use it then become quickly responsive until the next morning. Do I need to reset the system ?
