When I recieved and installed my lock I found that the keys that came with it didnt unlock it. I called their support number and they shipped me a new core, which was easier to change out than I anticipated.
The lock works great and integrated seamlessly with my smart home setup.

The perfect lock for my home.
Long story short, I ordered the previous model from Best Buy and an ordering fiasco allowed me to upgrade to this lock. It was essentially the same as the previous model but a few more numbers and features. I chose this lock because I have a Samsung Smart Things hub. I wanted a lock that not only worked with that, but also allowed me to use a normal key in case of battery or tech failure. Didn't want to have a chance of getting locked out of my own house. So far this lock does everything I wanted it to and more. I love the added security of knowing the door will lock itself if I forget to do so and the ease of access so i don't have to fumble for my keys.
And because this is a Kwikset lock, it comes with the Smartkey rekey feature, so I was able to rekey this lock to match my old one without calling a locksmith or going to the store for more keys. The perfect lock for my home.

Making life simpli
Once I put the lock in there were a couple issues with installation and set up but after a call to the support line I had it running perfectly. It was a simple install but never doing one before I had questions. The support team was right there and told me to hang on and he was going to stay with me until it was complete. He helped with the set up and installation. Great support team , none better. You can’t believe how simple it has made life for the family. Auto lock lit keypad and tracking of who entered or left the house.

Great product, great customer support
Bought 1 then two more. 2nd one didn’t work properly but customer service sent me a new one immediately. I had problem setting up codes on 3rd lock but again customer service talked me through process

We tied 6 at first and they all work very well and then we decided to put them on all our rental home <> they have been on now for about a year . We have "NO" lock out in that time . We use to have 9 or 10 a mouth almost always after 10pm . We have apt. and room for students at IU . We had them installed by J&S Locksmith

Excellent Product
I bought my first one a year ago and a second for the back door a few months later. Both are connected via Z-Wave to my smart home system, from which I can monitor lock status and lock and unlock both doors remotely. With advanced apps on the smart home system (SmartThings) both doors automatically lock 10 minutes after they close, just in case someone forgets.
From the outside, entry is a breeze. The keypad is very easy to use, while pressing the "LOCK" button illuminates the keys for entry at night. Programming is relatively simple at the lock itself, if a little tedious, while smart apps make remote programming a breeze.
Finally, the SmartKey feature gives the ability to re-key the cylinder myself and is a must-have feature. When we misplaced one key it was simple to re-key all locks to another key in under 30 seconds each.
I highly recommend this lock as a reliable, attractive and feature-rich device for the modern home.

I have a cottage that I will be renting to different people on a weekly basis and want to give each their own code. I have a wifi hub at the cottage. If I get the 914 or 916 what other device do I need so I can change codes etc.. Via wifi. Android system

This model works with Amazon Alexa via Samsung SmartThings and/or Wink and is compatible with the remote locking and unlocking feature. Please contact your home security provider directly regarding their instructions. Any app related questions will need to be directed to your home connect dealer.
If you do not have a dealer you would need to purchase either a Zigbee home automation system and the Smart Code with Zigbee from either Control 4 (control4.com) or HAI. Or you would need to purchase a Z-Wave home automation system (GE Security, Honeywell, 2Gig, DMP, ELK, Home Seer,
HAI or Vera) and the Smart Code with Z-Wave from a home automation or home security dealer.
Smartcode z-wave and zigbee door locks are not connected via internet and are not Wi-Fi enabled devices. Smartcode locks are equipped with z-wave or zigbee technology. In order for a z-wave or zigbee device to work, they need to be paired to a z-wave or zigbee controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your z-wave or zigbee devices that are enrolled to the wireless mesh. Some controllers work off your existing router via an Ethernet cable while others work through GSM radio (like cellular phones). You need to research different controllers in the market and find which one best suits your needs.

I can see the lock in my controller, but I can't control it. It does not properly register when the lock is locked or unlocked. Also, the LED status light is not on. Switch 1 is in the ON position.

System is showing Low Battery. Please let me know which battery used and how to replace battery

Please follow the general steps below to remove and replace your batteries depending on the model.
How to remove the cover –
1. Remove the three screws to the left right and bottom of the lock using either a Phillips head screwdriver or a 3/32 Allen Wrench if the installer had used the tamper-proof screws.
2. If there are no screws present, please just remove top portion by grabbing the cover from the sides and lifting up before pulling the cover off.
How to remove/install batteries-
1. Remove the three screws to the left right and bottom of the lock using either a Phillips head screwdriver or a 3/32 Allen Wrench if the installer had used the tamper-proof screws. If there are no screws present, proceed to step 2.
2. Remove the full battery cover (this may include the finished thumb turn portion) to gain access to the battery holder.
3. Remove the battery holder from the lock. This piece will have the word “Door” written on it with an arrow on either side pointing at the door.
4. Replace the batteries with 4 good quality Alkaline AA batteries.
5. Replace battery pack in the lock.

Is it required to integrate with a Z-Wave hub to use the keypad? I would like to use now and add/integrate the controller at a later time.

Can I buy just one part of this product? I needed the Oil Rubbed Bronze finish outside and the satin nickel on the inside, so I bought the Oil Rubbed Bronze.

The interior for this model is not designed for exterior use and should be under cover and needs to be protected from the elements. The exterior can be installed on an outside door but not be exposed to direct weather. Kwikset finishes are tested for durability in all weather conditions. Additionally, a new Kwikset product is backed by a limited lifetime warranty for the finish.
