  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement Deadblt works - no problems (yet?) I bought this electronic deadbolt in Home Depot in 2012. At the beginning of 2018, it started to malfunction- not closing or opening. Changed batteries, tried to reset. Occasionally it would start work and suddenly dead again. Called Kwikset. After the test, they sent me a replacement. I think there was some improvement made to an electronic design. It is more "powerful" in movement and has the option to be reset. The old one did not have that option. At least on manual. Thank you to the company for replacing deadbolt without much of a headache.

I called quickset and they replaced the locks with the bad finishes no questions asked. They have a fantastic service department. I would recommend anybody to buy their products.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lock! This deadbolt is very convenient. We use the light indicator at night to verify the deadbolt is locked. We have several codes programmed for different people. We use rechargeable batteries and swap every 6 months or so. Have recommended and would again.

  • Does this model support zwave connection with security systems like Vivint?

    We just installed our Kwikset Smartcode 909 15 SMT yesterday afternoon. As of late this morning, it stopped working. We replaced the batteries and it started working again. Do I have a bad unit or does this unit go through batteries this quickly?

    I thought the red light would blink when it is locked, the green blinks when it is unlocked. Also when I push the lock button with door closed it goes through 3 tries then stops, it is locked but no red light inside. When door is open it works fine.

    When I push the lock button on the outside it tries to lock 3 times.

    My unit is flashing red green and will not accept a code. I have tried to program different codes and it will not accept them. I even replaced the batteries and started from step #5 and no luck, it still only flashes red green. Please help.

    The house we bought has a deadbolt lock that looks exactly like this one. Is there a way for me to find out the model without disassembling it from the door? Other than using the key to unlock it, we don't know how to use and need instructions.
