THE LOCK BARREL IS MADE OF QUALITY METAL AND IT IS HEAVY, MEANING IT IS MADE SOLIDLY. THE KEYPAD BUTTONS PUSH EASILY AND COME BACK OUT ALL THE WAY. I HAD A DIFFERENT COMBO LOCK THERE BEFORE AND THE KEYPAD BUTTONS ALL WAYS GOT STUCK. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I REALLY LIKE THAT IT IS A COMB. LOCK AND YOU CAN ALSO USE A KEY IF SOMETHING DID HAPPEN TO THE ELECTRONICS.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and great customer service I bought this lock several years ago. After about 10 months I had some problems and contacted Kwikset. They were very professional and tried to help with the issues I was having. I changed the batteries and it seemed to help. Then a few weeks later, same issues. Kiwkset sent me a new lock which worked fine, but after almost a year I had some other issues. So I called again and they helped me do a factory reset. Npw it is working fine.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lock and fabulous support I LOVE this lock. No more worrying that my kids didn't lock the door. No more worrying that someone doesn't have a key. No fumbling in the dark to get a key in the lock when we didn't leave the porch lights on. My lock stopped working after 6 months and I replaced the batteries but still couldn't get it running. I called customer support. They quickly diagnosed that there was a problem with the motor and said they would send me a new lock if I logged into a website and posted a couple of pictures of my lock. I did that and soon after received a new lock. I cannot say enough good things about this company and its customer service. P.S. the SmartKey feature was also fabulous because I did not have to have new keys made for all my kids.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deadbolt with auto lock. I forgot to lock the door for the last time. The auto lock feature is great. I installed two on my doors. Fairly easy set-up. Just make sure that you follow the steps carefully. I needed a different latch for one door. It was sent free and when I needed help to readjust the lock the service rep was excellent. If you get stuck just call.

  • Can this lock be locked remotely?

    Hello khac, This model is not Home Connect compatible. You will need to purchase a SmartCode 910. SmartCode locks are equipped with Z-Wave or Zigbee technology. In order for a Z-Wave or ZigBee device to work remotely, you need to be paired with a Z-Wave or ZigBee controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your Z-Wave or ZigBee devices.     Can I buy this keyed to match all the other locks on my home? Or will I have to take it to a locksmith?

    Hello Tflescher, If your house keys are Kwikset compatible (KW1 or KW10) keys then you can use the SmartKey technology to rekey them.     How do I remove the cover of the back of the touchpad in order to enter new code

    My 909 works on right hand door but not on my left hand door.   When you push lock it unlocks and locks when you want to unlock.  This is my fourth door to install on.  No problems with other doors.

    Hello Mike75, You need to perform the door handing steps to correct the orientation of the bolt. To complete door handing: a. Leave the door open and in the locked position. b. Hold the program button as you install the batteries. c. Continue to hold the program button 3 seconds before releasing. If the lock has the sound on you will hear a long beep. d. After the long beep, press and release the program button again. e. The latch will start to move excessively in both directions and will finish with the latch in the locked position.     The back lit keypad no longer works. What do I do ?

    My door lock is set to auto lock after it does about every 10 seconds it tries to auto lock again and continue to do so over and over again. Very annoying and not to much the drainage on the batteries. How do I get it to stop without turning off the au

    Hello mcocco59, The clutch is disengaged. Place the battery cover onto the interior assembly, making sure to align the turnpiece with the shaft. Rotate the turnpiece 180 degrees clockwise (as you have done already...you will need to use force when rotating the turnpiece, and you will hear it click). This will re-engage the clutch. Next, align the turnpiece with the torque blade and reinstall the interior assembly on the door. Lastly, perform the door handing steps to correct the orientation of the bolt. To complete door handing: a. Leave the door open and in the locked position. b. Hold the program button as you install the batteries. c. Continue to hold the program button 3 seconds before releasing. If the lock has the sound on you will hear a long beep. d. After the long beep, press and release the program button again. e. The latch will start to move excessively in both directions and will finish with the latch in the locked position.
