After about 5 minutes the agent determined the lock was malfunctioning. The agent sent us a new lock. I indlalled and it worked right away.

We originally purchased one of these for our back door, after about a year, we decided to install one on the front door as well, and I'm seriously considering another for the service door on our detached garage. Both of the locks in use were easy to install, the directions provided are very well written and the illustrations are clear and easy to understand. Both locks have also performed flawlessly, the only thing that I've needed to do is to file the strike plate on the back door to ease deadbolt engagement. The only (minor) thing is that the finish on the outside component of the back door lock has become discolored with time, but everything still works just fine. We just love that we can't lock ourselves out of the house with these, that we can set codes for other people to enter the house when we're not here (and then erase them), and that the lock cylinders are well made and pick resistant. All in all, a great product!

Install is easy and once done it is just a matter of keeping batteries in them. One of them did not work and customer service was very good about sending me a replacement. 2 were on "thick" doors (2/12") and they sent me a "thick door kit" immediately. Highly recommend products from Kwikset.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT LOOKING, EASY TO INSTALL, WORKS SMOOTHLY!! JUST INSTALLED THIS LOCK AND I MUST SAY THE LOCK HAS A CLASSY LOOK AND WORKS VERY SMOOTH. THE LOCK BARREL IS MADE OF QUALITY METAL AND IT IS HEAVY, MEANING IT IS MADE SOLIDLY. THE KEYPAD BUTTONS PUSH EASILY AND COME BACK OUT ALL THE WAY. I HAD A DIFFERENT COMBO LOCK THERE BEFORE AND THE KEYPAD BUTTONS ALL WAYS GOT STUCK. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I REALLY LIKE THAT IT IS A COMB. LOCK AND YOU CAN ALSO USE A KEY IF SOMETHING DID HAPPEN TO THE ELECTRONICS.
