    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and great customer service I bought this lock several years ago. After about 10 months I had some problems and contacted Kwikset. They were very professional and tried to help with the issues I was having. I changed the batteries and it seemed to help. Then a few weeks later, same issues. Kiwkset sent me a new lock which worked fine, but after almost a year I had some other issues. So I called again and they helped me do a factory reset. Npw it is working fine.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lock and fabulous support I LOVE this lock. No more worrying that my kids didn't lock the door. No more worrying that someone doesn't have a key. No fumbling in the dark to get a key in the lock when we didn't leave the porch lights on. My lock stopped working after 6 months and I replaced the batteries but still couldn't get it running. I called customer support. They quickly diagnosed that there was a problem with the motor and said they would send me a new lock if I logged into a website and posted a couple of pictures of my lock. I did that and soon after received a new lock. I cannot say enough good things about this company and its customer service. P.S. the SmartKey feature was also fabulous because I did not have to have new keys made for all my kids.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deadbolt with auto lock. I forgot to lock the door for the last time. The auto lock feature is great. I installed two on my doors. Fairly easy set-up. Just make sure that you follow the steps carefully. I needed a different latch for one door. It was sent free and when I needed help to readjust the lock the service rep was excellent. If you get stuck just call.

  • Lost the all the keys for my Smart Code 909, Is there a way to re-key this myself without the original key ? Or a locksmith ? Thanks.

    Hello Winmond, To replace lost keys, you can have another Kwikset key randomly cut. Take the cylinder out of the unit and have the lock department at your local home improvement store use the resetting cradle to read the newly cut key to your lock. Sincerely, Kwikset Support Team

    Can this lock be linked to my home security system through wifi so I can open with my phone?

    Hello James10, This model is not Home Connect compatible. You will need to purchase model 910. SmartCode locks are equipped with Z-Wave or Zigbee technology. In order for a Z-Wave or ZigBee device to work remotely, you need to be paired with a Z-Wave or ZigBee controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your Z-Wave or ZigBee devices.     why there is only 5 button instead of 10 buttons? 1/2 is group together, 3/4 are grouped together is this simply cost saving or it will increase security or would it decrease? thank you

    I see that AA Alkaline batteries are recommended here. But will the smartcode 909 model (Kwikset model # 909-11P-SMT) be able to use AA lithium batteries and achieve longer lasting battery life (longer time before needing to replace batteries)?

    Is this lock specificly made for a right handed door? We have tried every possible way to install this lock and nothing is working for our left handed door. About to return this lock.

    Hello Hockeygirl88, To complete door handing: a. Leave the door open and in the locked position. b. Hold the program button as you install the batteries. c. Continue to hold the program button 3 seconds before releasing. If the lock has the sound on you will hear a long beep. d. After the long beep, press and release the program button again. e. The latch will start to move excessively in both directions and will finish with the latch in the locked position.     If this lock is on a rental and the tenant moves out and gives us the key, then we use the smart key to change the lock and code, then they won’t have access anymore, correct? Meaning if they still have a copy of the “old” key, it won’t work anymore..

    The open deadbolt action throw for the last quarter inch is very stiff and often the unlock function cannot open the last quarter inch, causing the keypad to flash red. Door often requires manual key opening. Warranty issue?
