Very convenient not having to search for your key in the dark, and also to give friends or contractors access with the flexibility of being able to conveniently change access codes, if necessary.Only drawbacks are having to replace batteries periodically (maybe once a year? Not that bad, although I hate creating more waste), and sometimes the strike plate and bolt don't line up correctly due to swelling and contraction of the foundation of our house, which causes the deadbolt to give an error. This has more to do with my own personal circumstances...Otherwise a great product. Highly recommend.

Once you buy this lock, all you have to do is get a z-wave compatible hub. Staples Connect or Wink are two that are under $50! then you have remote access to see not only the status of the lock anytime, anywhere, but you can also assign temporary user codes all in the app! And it is DEAD SIMPLE! You will love it, I know I do. I have three at my house, and my entire family loves it, too. And with SmartKey, it can match your other keys (but you won't really need them, anymore).

Because they are connected to my Zwave home network I can remotely check if they are locked and lock or unlock them as needed and get alerts if they are changed or tampered with. Have given several out to friends and family as gifts. Would definitely recommend.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought this over a year ago. Works perfectly with my Iris home security system from Lowe's. Only issues I have had with it are; when i first linked it to my Iris hub it would not take it because Kwikset tests them before they package it and they did not reset it after so it can be linked to a new source. Second issue i have with it is the battery life should be longer in my opinion. In the approximately 12 months i have owned it i have replaced the 4 AA batteries twice already.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Z-wave Deadbolt I use this deadbolt for our front door. It is very convenient to be able to lock and unlock the door without any key. I have also programmed my primary z-wave controller to lock my external doors in the middle of the night, just in case. I can check the status of the locks and switch them even when I am not at home. With this deadbolt, I feel more secure.

    I have installed this lock but by mistake lost the lock box cover that came with it. So I lost the code that came with it to be program it wirelesly using Staple's Connect device. Can I call Kwikset support to get the new code?

    How to reset the code

    Hello Mario23,For the Kwikset Smart Code locks when you program a new code it overwrites the old code that was previously stored. If you cannot remember which code was the one you wanted to delete, it is recommended you reprogram over all 2 codes. If you wanted only a single code to work the unit you would program the same code over all 2 codes.
