  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY TO USE AND INSTALL FOR THE DYI I have been using it for almost a year and I like it very much. I have the Wink hub and it works seamlessly with that as well. I also like the fact that you can program multiple codes for the kids to use, etc. And let's not forget how fun it is to show your friends how you can lock and unlock your door remotely.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient This is our second SmartCode deadbolt. Very convenient not having to search for your key in the dark, and also to give friends or contractors access with the flexibility of being able to conveniently change access codes, if necessary. Only drawbacks are having to replace batteries periodically (maybe once a year? Not that bad, although I hate creating more waste), and sometimes the strike plate and bolt don't line up correctly due to swelling and contraction of the foundation of our house, which causes the deadbolt to give an error. This has more to do with my own personal circumstances... Otherwise a great product. Highly recommend.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great entrance system Have a double main entrance system, this unit is the first door entering from the exterior to an entrance sitting area with a second electronic dead bolt without wireless technology on the second entrance door from the sitting area to house entrance. Double system and not requiring keys at each. Easy installation and trouble free use.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Matchted to VERALITE I bought this product with my VERALITE controller in June 2015. The product has as advertised and I have seen no battery drain. I must say the Vera controller and their FREE control web site are good. The VERA interface is a little clunky, but as you learn you way around, it is really good. The one drawback on this product is the documentation is terrible. Using the VERA website identifies so many option that you do not see in the documentation for the loc. Example remote programing codes, time windows on codes, notifications of lock actions, etc. ! month in, I recommend this to someone who likes to tinker with technology. Not for a layman.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent once you get it to work! This product was a replacement for similar deadbolt that did not have the Z-wave. The product would not program correctly. Support person could not get it to work either. Went back to replace unit and same issue with the second unit. After much trial the support person have one part removed while programing and then reinstalled. After that the programming held. This issue apparently affects some, not all units, and not all support are aware of the issue and its resolution. Made needless trip to exchange the unit. Quality issues such as this costs money and errodes customer confidence in the product. After resolved the product worked as described.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy To Use Added this deadbolt to my ADT Pulse home security system. It was especially easy to replace an existing Kwikset deadbolt already in my door. And it rekeyed to my existing keys and other locks easily and quickly. Then pairing it to the Pulse system was again very easy. The only drawback to the Pulse system is that the deadbolt can't be programmed with as many codes as other systems allow. But stii, it's been an outstanding product. I did have a minor issue and the customer service from Kwikset was as good as Amazon or Nordstrom.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient, reliable and secure! I love this lock. It was so easy to install, and allows me to lock and unlock my door (and other three Kwikset locks) from my phone through my querky wink hub. You can also key in a combination to get in which is go great for our kids. Not only that, since it works with wink, I have it in a robot setting that auto locks this door at night when I go to bed, and auto locks whenever I've left the lock open for more than 30 minutes. You can program it however you want. It's beautiful and works flawlessly all the time. Can't say enough good about it. I own this, and three other Kwikset zwave locks, and love them all.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with Smartthings I have two units, and one was a bit problematic to start where batteries would drain within a month. Two replacement units were sent, and the second finally solved the issue and has worked extremely well. Long story short - if your batteries are lasting less than 6 months (I've been using NiMH rechargeables since Nov without recharging them) contact support and let them know. Otherwise, having my doors auto lock/unlock based on whether we're home or not is killer, and remote unlock for when friends or neighbors need to get in while we're away is equally excellent.

  • I have a model 910trl zw and it will was clicking when it tried to lock. I took the lock off and you can see it will not close all the way. Can that be adjusted. Is there a place in the Chicago area where I can take it to be fixed.

    Can it work with Wink hub?  The exterior can be installed on an outside door and can be exposed to direct weather?

The interior for a SmartCode is not designed for exterior use and should be under cover and needs to be protected from the elements.     I would need to mount on my door horizontally instead of vertical, is ther a way to do this?

    this will not work with exterior door that opens on left. WE have these on the doors that open on the right, but none will work on the other door. The lock mechanism on all three is not level, and will not rotate far enough to the left

    Installed lock with original door strike plate.With door open, it works okay with keypad. But the door is closed and the lock button is pushed, it locks but clicks three times. Manual key locks and unlocks smoothly. Supplied strike plate does not fit.

    so i had to take the base apart to clean the contacts from battery corrosion. after putting it back together the remote lock is no longer working i can hear it spinning but its not catching i can lock it my self and it works fine. gear is not catching.

    How do I change the 913 locks direction from a left hand to a right hand door?

Press and hold the Lock button while installing battery pack. Hold button until the latch bolt starts moving on its own.
