    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenience is excellent! We've had this lockset for more than a year and are extremely pleased with the appearance and function. Family members who need access to our home when we are away no longer need a key and, if we choose, we can easily change the combination.We started with lithium AA batteries and the lockset seemed to work a very long time with those batteries --- perhaps 9 months. When the lithium batteries finally weakened (and the keypad flashed red to let us know they needed to be replaced, we put alkaline batteries in the unit. Although it works fine it does seem to struggle a little more moving the dead bolt.We highly recommend this unit and would do it all over again without a doubt.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features Easy Installation I've had this over a year and it works great! It installed in place of my old deadbolt with ease. The instructions for setting the combination are easy to follow and you can change it easily. There is a light that flashes to show you weather the deadbolt is locked or open which can be seen anywhere that you can see the inside of the door. It also has smartkey that was easy to match the key to the knob key. You can also set a temporary combination for when you have company.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Model: 909CNT 15 SMT Kwikset Electronic Deadbolt I replaced the original deadbolt lock on the exterior door to my garage with the Model: 909CNT 15 SMT Kwikset Electronic Deadbolt lock over a year ago. The lock fit perfectly in the existing door holes; no drilling or mortising was required. I did have a problem programming the combination, and I called the toll free number and got immediate assistance with that process! Lock works great, I have replaced the AA batteries only one time to date.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multiple Bronze and Nickel - All Doors w/ lever Have installed the 909 on all doors (bronze & nickel). Had a defective one, and they replaced it right away. Excellent customer service. Using a code keeps keys out of your pocket, especially when just out in the yard. The SmartKey function is a huge plus.These locks really perform, and the finish on them look great. Bought matching lever handles; so much easier than turning a knob. Very pleased all around.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this several months ago and it was really easy to install. It is easy to set the code numbers and change them if necessary. The only problem I had with mine is when I tried to re-key it I pulled the key out to soon and now I cannot use a key to open the door. I still believe this is the way to go for key less entry. I feel it is safe and secure and gives me piece of mind when I am not at home.

Pricing was great, instal was easy and the home connect allows me to access security remotely from my phone. No locksmith to worry about keys anymore and changing codes is very easy.....heck changing keys if needed are user freindly and simple.

I love not always having to carry my key or to dig it out of my purse while standing outside when it's 0 degrees. I can change the code anytime and, with smart code lock technology I was able to set the lock to match my existing keys and other locks

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Lock I bought several months ago. Installation was easy although I had to cut out part of the plastic frame surrounding the center window in my door. If the back pack was just a half inch narrower it would have fit perfectly. Still have trouble getting both codes permitted to work but using only one is fine for us.

    Hello orchard60,The interior for a SmartCode is not designed for exterior use and should be under cover and needs to be protected from the elements. The exterior can be installed on an outside door but not be exposed to direct weather.Thank you,Kwikset Support

    how do I know when the batteries are running low? what happens if the battery dies before I can change it and the key is not available?

    How do you delete a code from a SmartCode Deadbolt?

    "Kwikset model 909 , to re-program the 909 please follow the steps below. This will over write the current code.a. Press the program button on the interior unit once.b. Enter in 4 to 8 digit code onto the keypad.c. Press the “LOCK” button to save code.d. Extend the bolt by pressing the “LOCK” button and re-enter the code to test.     I had my Smartcode 909 professionally installed and they failed to leave me the "S" tool to open the back panel to replace my batteries. Help! Can you send me the tool?

    The Build of my new home installed a Kwiset deadbolt .  They didn't give me the packaging or paperwork, I think it's the model 909. Behind the cover it has the home connect icon but I'm not able to pair with Vera.  Is this lock home connect comparable?

    What keyway used on this smartcode lock? I have standard Kwikset entry locks on all my doors and want them all keyed alike.

    Hello Anonymous,This lock uses the Smartkey keyway, this has a slot on the left side of the keyhole. If your other locks are Smartkey compatible with the slot on the left side of the keyhole, you can re-key all locks to one key.Thank you,Kwikset Support

    Does the device have an auto-lock feature? Something like it re-locks after some time. If the answer is yes, how it works? I wonder if I unlock it from inside (without key pad) but I don't open the door, if the device can re-lock after some seconds.

    Hello Oskitar,Yes, auto lock can be activated by putting switch #2 in the up position, located on the back of the unit under the battery cover. The auto lock will activate after 30 seconds in the unlocked position.Thank you,Kwikset Support
