      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deadbolt features and reliability! We purchased our smart deadbolt on a trip last fall. It has been 100% reliable for both us and our pet sitter. We would love to use the auto locking feature but, having a dog, we would continually be unlocking. We purchased the gold coloured unit and find that it looks elegant and matches our lever handset. The smart deadbolt was a breeze to install and easy!! to set up. I really appreciate the ease of access to the settings and batteries via the large sliding inside face. It's a good feeling to press the lock button and walk away, hearing the "locked beep", not to mention having the flashing red or green (locked/unlocked) light seen from within. I think friends are getting into it -- a recent visitor exited ... and locked himself out!

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more fumbling for keys We have had 2 of these locks for over 2 years now. Our front door we have it set to auto lock after 30 secs, side door we lock manually as we go in and out of this door with groceries etc. Never have had a problem with either. Had to change the batteries on the side door since we use it more. Don't have to worry about getting keys for others that need to get in for a reason. Took a bit for us to get them installed, but once we figured it out, the second one was a lot easier. Would like to be able to tell who (which code) entered at times.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from EASE OF USE This is the second unit we have had. The first one worked properly for several years requiring annual battery changes. Then it quit and we purchased the same model as a replacement.We have the lock on the door between the garage and the utility room. We keep the door locked and use it many times a day. Just program an easy to remember number in to the unit's memory and punch it in and you are in. If the batteries go dead, you can use the provided key to gain entry. Batteries are easy to replace and last at least a year of heavy use.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more Keys The best purchase I ever made. My wife is constantly locking the door, even if I go outside and without having my keys I could not re enter my home. This lock is easy to operate and the batteries lasted over a year. If I have guest arriving before I get home I can enter a temporary code and text the number to them when they arrive so they can enter my home. No more hiding a key somewhere worrying that someone might find it. I even used the smart key function to match my other kwikset door keys to this lock.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great We've had this Electronic Deadbolt for a few years. The smaller size of the keypad fit the limited room on our door just fine. With a big family it was easier to use the entry code than everyone having to keep a key or remember to put the key back in the hiding place. I had some problems with the deadbolt working after changing the batteries and called the 800 number for help. The knowledgeable technician helped me quickly and got everything working again.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from A clever idea! For our thirtieth wedding anniversary, my wife and I rented a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains. I thought it was an clever idea that its door had an electronic lock; instead of a key, all we needed to know was the code. (The owners were able to easily change the code after each tenant left.) As soon as we returned home, I bought a Kwikset lock for our front door. Six years later it is still working great and I am still impressed with it.

      Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than Keyed Entry While they are better than keyed entry for rentals who have people who come and go often, they tend to be tricky -- they must be sitting precisely in the "hole" of the deadbolt or they will not operate, they often require multiple code entries to accept the code and work, and the keypads wear out and have to be replaced or the whole lock just quits working. Still, less expensive overall if you have multiple tenants.

    • Two new 909 dead bolt w/same issue. Fully unlocked the rounded side is at 3 o'clock just like looking at "D". The inside unit in fully unlock position needs the rounded side at ~1:30. How can one of them be adjusted to align.

      The factory key does not turn the lock what is wrong???

      Hello Mike1946,Below you will find some trouble shooting steps to reset your cylinder.1st: Insert the last key that you tried to program to the unit.2nd: Pull the key out a notch at a time and try to turn it at the same time to the quarter turn position to the right.3rd: If the key turns to the quarter turn position, insert your smart key tool and then remove your key.4th: Remove the key and Insert the key that came with the box and turn it back to vertical at 12 o'clock.5th: Then re-do the re-keying steps that came with the box.For further technical support please contact Kwikset techical support at 1-800-327-5625.Thank you,Kwikset Support

      Installed this lock, and the flashing red light will not stop flashing.  According to the instructions if the red light is flashing it is that the batteries are low.  i put another 4 new batteries but red light is still flashing. What can I do

      How do i delete a code i only want one code and there currently is 3 on there

      Hello mnmandime,"Kwikset model 909 , to reprogram the 909 15 please follow the steps below.a. Press the program button on the interior unit once.b. Enter in 4 to 8 digit code onto the keypad.c. Press the “LOCK” button to save code.d. Extend the bolt by pressing the “LOCK” button and re-enter the code to test. The bolt should retract to the unlocked position. If it does not unlock, repeat steps (a) through (c)."Please use the same code for all three codes, this will over write the other codes.Thank you,Kwikset Support

      Is there an app to operate the 909 from my iPhone?
