      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I bought this a year ago with the bottom lock also. Both with the changeable key and 2 sets of the regular deadbolts and door knob. On the two sets, I was not able to do any rekeying, so, I rekeyed the other two to use the same key. I now have three doors that use the same key. We normally don't lock the bottom lock, so now we no longer fumble around for a key. As a matter of fact we haven't used a key in a year. When we need let somebody in when we are on vacation, we put a second code for the time period and clear it when we come back. No more locking ourselves out.Great product

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deadbolt features and reliability! We purchased our smart deadbolt on a trip last fall. It has been 100% reliable for both us and our pet sitter. We would love to use the auto locking feature but, having a dog, we would continually be unlocking. We purchased the gold coloured unit and find that it looks elegant and matches our lever handset. The smart deadbolt was a breeze to install and easy!! to set up. I really appreciate the ease of access to the settings and batteries via the large sliding inside face. It's a good feeling to press the lock button and walk away, hearing the "locked beep", not to mention having the flashing red or green (locked/unlocked) light seen from within. I think friends are getting into it -- a recent visitor exited ... and locked himself out!

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more fumbling for keys We have had 2 of these locks for over 2 years now. Our front door we have it set to auto lock after 30 secs, side door we lock manually as we go in and out of this door with groceries etc. Never have had a problem with either. Had to change the batteries on the side door since we use it more. Don't have to worry about getting keys for others that need to get in for a reason. Took a bit for us to get them installed, but once we figured it out, the second one was a lot easier. Would like to be able to tell who (which code) entered at times.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from EASE OF USE This is the second unit we have had. The first one worked properly for several years requiring annual battery changes. Then it quit and we purchased the same model as a replacement.We have the lock on the door between the garage and the utility room. We keep the door locked and use it many times a day. Just program an easy to remember number in to the unit's memory and punch it in and you are in. If the batteries go dead, you can use the provided key to gain entry. Batteries are easy to replace and last at least a year of heavy use.

The polished brass finish is still like new, and I've been very satisfied with the lock's performance.My experience with this lock turned me into a loyal Kwikset customer. When I decided to add another 909 to my patio door, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the newest version now holds eight codes, instead of just two.Kwikset customer service is great too... very knowledgeable, helpful, and professional.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from convenient and reliable I've installed 2 of these and am very pleased with both. The obvious advantage is not requiring a key. This helped in a different way a couple of years ago when I was out-of-town and wanted a friend (who didn't have a key) to get something which was inside the house. The only downside to the installation was having to be careful about aligning the parts before tightening the screws to minimize the force required to move the deadbolt. Otherwise the battery life (over a year in my experience) could be considerably shortened.

      I reinstalled my lock on a new door. Lock now locks the door when I enter my code and unlocks the door when I press the lock button. I tried repeating the door handling steps a couple times, but it has not corrected the problem. What else shoul I try?

      The lock sticks in the "Locked" position when the deadbolt is locked using the outside electronic lock bttn. If I lock from outside, then code unlock it won't budge. I have to move the int. deadblt. 1/4" then it starts to work. Dr handl proc. successful.

      If I do a factory reset, will the existing keys still work?

      Is there a matching lower handleset?

      My 909 says on the lock that it is home connect ready but the description says it is not.  Which is correct?

This unit is not for a home connect system, it does not state home connect on the box. If the unit were home connect there would be a home connect card inside the unit. Both home connect and non home connect use the same 909 unit. One includes the home connect card model # 910 the other does not model # 909.       Is it waterproof?

The interior for a SmartCode is not designed for exterior use and should be under cover and needs to be protected from the elements.
