      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same home key, great features. After working all day and driving home, I just want to get inside my home and unwind. As I dig for my key, I realize that I can just use my master code and enter. So much easier indeed. Once inside, I notice the cleaning service came today and used the 'Alt' door code I provided for them so they may have in/out access to perform their job. (no keys needed) I change this code each time to provide added security between services. Once I lock the door for the night from the inside, I see a 'blinking red' light that lets me know the door is locked. Headed for secure sleep.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice finish and great security! I own two of these units, one for house and other on garage. House unit is used half as much as garage unit, and both units have held up well in over three years of use. Garage batteries will last about 6months(4 AA's) and house bout a year. We also oil/lubricate deadbolt pin bout twice a year, to reduce wear from moisture/rust. These are the first time we have owned them and are impressed by ease of use and ability to change code quickly. Also had to contact kwikset customer service and they were excellent with my inquiry, unlike most companies you deal with today. Would recommend these to anyone needin good security and ease of use.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely easy and convenient I just recently moved home and the first day I was home I didnt have a key to let myself in and out as I needed so my mom and I would have to exchange keys if I wanted to go about the town while she was at work but I would have to make sure I was home to let her in. This went on for about 3 days til I was finally able to go to lowes and get a key made. But I decided this was going to be so much easier to do then having a key. I still have a house key but I never use it since this lock has been installed. If and when I sell my house I'll make sure all my locks are like this since the keys can bee rekeyed to fit and key.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Security I have had this lock about a year now. Still on the original batteries. It is great not having to have a key when I go for an early morning run. Also great for my kids (who live away from home) when they show up unexpectedly. No worry about them forgetting their keys (just the code and they can call us for that). Also great for when we travel and my wife panics thinking she left the stove/iron/curler etc on. We simply call a neighbor, give them the code and they can put her mind at ease.The lock was simple to install and program. That was my biggest worry when I purchased it. But I had no troubles at all doing it myself with the instructions included. A simple lock to install.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the keyless entry I purchased this smart code deadbolt for my back door in 2009 and LOVE not having to worry about having a key. Especially when I go for bike ride or walk the dog. I can give a code to others and change code after used without dealing with extra keys or worrying about getting the key back. "If" anything would go wrong with this smart code...I would buy another smart code immediately. In fact I did replace my garage door with a smart code lock with handle. Easy to install so I was able to do both myself.

I deiced to replace my existing Kwikset deabolt because I had locked myself out of the the house recently when returning home late from a business trip. I had to wake the family so someone could let me in. I had already been looking at what was available and so the choice was easy. This had all of the features I needed, including the ability to use my current key. The installation instructions were clear and the assembly was a breeze. My kids also love using the keypad. They race home each day to get there first to unlock the door.

Installation was easy and it worked perfectly right out of the box My wife liked it so much we bought additional locks for each of our daughters for Christmas presents. One daughter installed it herself Christmas evening. We all are using the locks on the entrance doors between our houses and our garage. No more getting accidentally locked outside. Only issue what has developed (only with one lock) is it occasionally sticks when using a key. I plan to put some graphite in the lock to see if it resolves the sticking problem..

    • How can I clear all the codes and put in a new one

      For the Kwikset Smart Code locks when you program a new code it overwrites the old code that was previously stored. If you cannot remember which code was the one you wanted to delete, it is recommended you reprogram over all 4 codes. If you wanted only a single code to work the unit you would program the same code over all 4 codes.

      I don't know I had to reset my codes. And I messed them all up. Is there a way to start over how do I fix this?

      How do you remove all codes and reset everything to factory? I have tried overwriting the old code with new ones but now the old code still works, along with the new code.

      Hi Nxcastro,The "Auto Lock" feature can be disabled by flipping on/off the second dipswitch on the interior.

      Hi I installed this lock about two weeks ago.  Everything was working okay.  Today the lock would not unlock.  when you unlock with key the deadbolt goes right back into the locked position.  Not sure what to do.

      What is the warranty on this dead bolt? I used if for one year and it is not working now. change new battery, reset code and it is still not working.
