      Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bang for your buck We've had this coded deadbolt for over a year now. I installed it on our front door with a handle from a Kwikset kit while replacing all door knobs and deadbolts. I simply subbed the electronic deadbolt for the normal one (and used the normal one on one of the back doors). I like it a lot and my wife loves it. We have toddler twin boys and I leave earlier than she does, so packing boys, lunch, gym clothes, coffee, etc was hard enough without fumbling and dropping the keys. Now she simply has to press the button and voila! The fact that it lights up at night when you forgot to turn on the porch light is especially convenient. I bought the deadbolt on sale at lowes, used a coupon, and got their military discount so the value is outstanding. I use Energizer's best battery (expensive, but they last) and I just recently changed them for the first time. By the way, changing or installing the batteries is a snap, just slide the cover off. I turned off some of the lighting and unnecessary battery-draining features and I recommend others do the same if possible. It looks amazing and guests compliment the looks and the features. I'd buy it all over again if I had it to do over, and that's saying something because I can be pretty critical. Go ahead, if you're buying a deadbolt you're on the hook to spend some cash anyway, so you might as well splurge a tiny bit for an upgrade.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have Kids.....Great piece of mind I bought this because my kids kept loosing their keys (which presents it's own set of challenges). Now they just remember their code and they can easily gain access. When they run out to play, they just push one button to lock the door and I don't have to worry about leaving the door unlocked so they can come back in and I have the security of knowing the door is locked all the time, and you know how it goes with kids, in and out all day long. Multiple codes, easy to program, use a key if you prefer, easy re-key if a key does get lost, anti lock bumping technology, for me it was a no brainer and the perfect fit for my family.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but Corrodes I have used two of these locks. One worked well for about 2 years and then needed to have the batteries changed. Surprisingly, I found that the battery contacts had corroded. I lubed the contacts and put in new batteries, and it continues to work fine.The other lock was used in an empty rental and worked for about 2 years. One of the contacts was severely corroded and the alkaline battery leaked. I lubed the contacts and replaced the batteries, but the lock does not work.Customer service at Kwikset has been very good. They already replaced a cylinder for me. I have not called them yet about the faulty lock.

      Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible. We bought this model on yesterday at our local Home Depot, brought it home and tried it and it didn't work. It would not program. Followed the steps for programming as specified on the instructions. Found a tutorial on You Tube (which was the same), still didn't work. My husband took it back to the Home Depot and got another one thinking that it was an older version. Got the new one home and ran into the same problems. We were unable to program a new code in. We are taking it back! We will go back to our other method of locking the door. Sad!

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to reprogram, simple to use I added this to avoid providing keys to a maid service. I provided them with their own code which took seconds to program. When that service didn't work out, it took me seconds again to wipe out their code by exchanging it for another one. I was very glad to have purchased this excellent lock rather than worrying if they had made a copy of my physical key or having to change locks. I also liked the convenience of changing that lock rather than having to arrange time away from work during the day to pick up my key. Convenience all around. The lock is very easy to use and as secure as a keyed deadbolt.

      Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the function Bought this particular model a month or so ago. I had the same model but in a different color however, I had to install it upside down to make it work. I'm not sure why but that was the way it was set up, I guess, to operate the opposite direction as to my door. Anyway, I love the convenience of these looks. No more messing with keys or worrying about loosing them. All you have to do is remember your code, which is easy to set. The first lock will be installed on my back door when I get it done, it works the opposite direction to the front door. I don't think there is any particular direction associated with these locks but the first one seemed to have a specific direction and will work for this door.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great so far!!! We decided to go with this type of lock because our son kept leaving his key or losing it . We were able to install it without any problem. Programming it was easy too. I followed the instructions and we were good to go. Now my son rushed out in the morning and just pushed a button to lock it. In the afternoon I do not have to worry about him being locked out of the house. We have had it less than a year, but have had no problems so far. I have replaced the batteries once. I have even changed the codes a couple of times with no problems. So far I am pleased with this purchase!

      Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lock mechanism doesn't last I purchased 4 of these locks 2 to 3 years ago. At first they all worked great and I thought that I had really found the answer to keyless entry to our home. I have several people that need access to our home while we are away on vacation and keeping track of who has what keys is a hassle. Now 2 of the 4 locks have quit working...new batteries no help. I think that the gears or whatever have worn out. They really don't get that much use...maybe a couple times a week at the very most.

      I have only had my lock for about 6 weeks and have already had to change the batteries twice. I love this product, but it is not practical to have to change the batteries every 3 week, I read in your FAQs they should last about a year? Any advice?

      The lock box on the interior side is catching and not opening and closing smoothly.  The lock will not work with the current tension.  How do I fix this?

      Our batteries died in the lock. My daughter left the lock without batteries overnight. I put new batteries in the lock but the keypad is still not working. We can lock it from our phone or the security panel but not the key pad.
