I rekeyed my front door to match the back door. But I only rekeyed the inside deadbolt and forgot the outside. Then I stupidly threw away the old keys. Will this rekey kit allow me to rekey the outside deadbolt without the original key?

What's the difference between the "Every Day" and "Alternate Keys" in the pack? Why would we use one versus the other?

I was re-keying a temp key and it would not turn the full 1/2 counter clockwise like the instructions state. And now neither my functional (original) key nor the temp key work in my bottom lock. How do I fix this?

Does the Kwikset-SmartKey Kit works only on Kwikset locks?

Is designed to rekey Kwikset locks that have the Smartkey compatibility and may not be compatible with any other brand of locks. How do you prevent a tenant from rekeying the lock and locking out the landlord?
Hello Sadein,The tenant may rekey the lock at anytime with a Smartkey tool and a functioning key to the lock. However, it is suggested to purchase a hall and closet knob or lever and a key controlled deadbolt. This will allow the landlord to have a master key to the deadbolt. This deadbolt has a tenant and a landlord cylinder. If the tenant were to rekey the lock the master key (landlord key) will still unlock the door.Thank you,Kwikset Support
