  • Control your Halo lock conveniently from your car. Halo locks now integrate with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to view and manage lock activity while on the road.

• Google Home Real‑Time Voice Alerts
  • Receive voice alerts on your Google Home speakers whenever lock activity is detected. To enable, navigate to Home Settings > Google Home Automation in the Kwikset app.
• Wi‑Fi Reconfiguration (New for certain Halo Models)
  • You can now change your Wi‑Fi network directly within the Kwikset app under Wi‑Fi Settings, without needing to reset your lock.
  • This feature is newly available for:
  • Halo Keypad
  • Halo Touchscreen
  • Halo Touch
  • Other models, including Halo Select and Halo Select Plus already support this capability.
  • Firmware Requirement
    This Wi‑Fi reconfiguration feature requires firmware [FW v02.09.10.10] or later for Halo Keypad and Halo Touchscreen and [FW v03.09.00.10] or later for Halo Touch.
    The firmware update is being released in phases, so availability may vary by device. Please check for updates in the app and upgrade when available.

• More Auto-Lock Duration Choices
• Customize Auto-Lock with additional shorter and longer durations. Auto Lock by Duration option is available under Lock Settings .
• Improved Home View and Shared Access Experience
• More clarity has been added, in guiding the new Admin/Guest user to the shared home and the Home View now makes it easier to see the user roles (Owner/Admin/Guest) at a glance.
• Enhanced Notifications
• Notifications for Low Battery and Geofence events have been improved to ensure they are received and not missed.
• Access Code Scheduling Across Time Zones
• Set and edit access codes, regardless of time zone differences between your phone and the lock. The access schedules will follow the Lock’s time zone.
• Refreshed Installation Guide
• The in-app interactive installation guide for Halo Touchscreen, Touch, and Keypad lock models have been updated to align with the latest Halo Select model, ensuring a smoother setup experience.

• NearBy Devices Permission flexibility
• For Halo locks on Android, the app can now function even if the Nearby Devices permission is turned off. However, disabling this permission will prevent all Bluetooth-related features from working. To access the full functionality of the app, including Bluetooth capabilities and for optimal performance, we recommend keeping Nearby Devices permission enabled.

NOTE:

• As part of a security update:
• For iOS users with Biometric Login enabled: Users with Biometric authentication need to re-enable FACE ID/Touch ID in the App Account settings. Your login experience will stay seamless, with no interruptions or logouts.
• For iOS users with Halo Select locks: Users will experience one-time automatic Bluetooth re-pairing. Select "START PAIRING" when prompted with the "Bluetooth Pairing Available" Flyout, to reestablish the Bluetooth functionality. Remote users are not affected, and no action is required on their part.

• Auto-Unlock by Distance (Geofence)

  • Automatically unlock the door as you approach the home. Enable this feature in Lock Settings. This feature is available for all Halo lock models (not supported for the Aura lock).

• New Support Menu

  • Access all support resources conveniently from the Main Menu. This includes, Consumer Support contacts, FAQ support page access, Legal document links, Installation Guides (previously located in Lock Settings) and Release Notes.

• New Feature Highlight Screen

  • View the major new features added in the release, after an App update. This includes a link to the Release Notes for a complete list of changes.

• Amazon Smart Reordering

  • For users who have integrated their Kwikset account with Alexa, this feature allows you to receive low battery notifications from Alexa and order replacement batteries from Amazon marketplace. • Improved Lock Access Management

  • You can now limit access to specific locks within a home when adding new home users. Lock Access and Schedule Type are new options available when adding new home users. These can be updated at any time.

• Paired Devices Option in Lock Settings

  • View all devices that are paired to your lock. To access this feature, ensure your phone is within Bluetooth range of the lock, approximately 25 feet.

• Functional Improvements:

• Added support for three additional LATAM countries: Bolivia, Belize, and Venezuela

  • Users in this region will now be able to download, register, and access the Kwikset App.
