  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy and convenient! This smart deadbolt has revolutionized our lives! First, my partner installed it which means it was fairly easy to do, following instructions. It works with our iPhones and Apple Watch, so we can tell Siri to lock and unlock the door which eliminates the need for a key (wonderful for when my hands are full or I can't find my key). It also allows us to set a passcode so that guests (babysitter, dogsitter, etc.) can get in and out without a key using the touchscreen. It is excellent, easy to use, and makes things more convenient for us!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many pluses! We love this lock! First let me tell you the con - the instructions in the box are not enough. You are much better off downloading the app & following the on screen instructions in real time. The lock installation is a breeze - the easiest lock we’ve ever installed. We had some trouble getting the electronic part set up but tried a second time using the app instructions and it was super easy. The pros - syncs up to all our iPhones easily. One person downloads the app & is the main contact for the lock. Then you can invite other iPhone users to join and it syncs up to the Home features seamlessly. We’ve set up a code that the family can use and one for friends who need to access the house. Adding codes is easy & can be done in the app or on the lock itself. Would be great for a vacation property too! We are very pleased with how it works and how clean it looks! We were able to get a matching lever style knob and our front door looks great!

I've had my iPhone for a while along with a new Apple TV so I've been able to take advantage of a lot of the features of this that you won't if you just connect via bluetooth. I was initially worried about fingerprints on the pad making it obvious which number I put in. Fortunately, it doesn't hold fingerprints very well and there's a dummy code that you can enter to make sure it throws off the pattern. It was relatively easy to install with the instructions with the Premis app but I don't like that the only copy of the instructions is within the app. I get this is a connected lock so an internet connection is assumed, but I still prefer the paper directions in my hand when attempting to install. I do love the ease of generating codes, especially for one time use.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product with amazing features This lock was very easy to install and I had it up and running in no time. Now that my children are of the age where they tend to come and go at different hours of the day I thought having a smart lock might give my wife and I peace of mind when we aren’t home. We have an Apple TV which we connected to this lock giving us the ability to provide our kids with their own codes to unlock the door. Now I’m able to see that they have come home at our agreed upon time when we are not there. It’s also nice to check remotely that our front door is locked and if not we can lock it from our phone. My wife especially loves the functionality with Siri. When she has groceries in hand she can give Siri a voice command to unlock the door avoiding dropped grocery items in the entry way. She is sold on this product as am I!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even an average DYI can install this. I installed the Premis lock the other day on my basement door. The lock came with excellent instructions on it's installation. My door did have an existing dead bolt lock. I did have some minor adjustments to the original lock opening but the directions did guide me thru the process. Once the lock was installed connecting the wifi to my phone was simple and took about ten minutes to setup. Now my house is better secured.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome lock First things first. I want to let everyone know that you HAVE to have an apple product for the touchscreen and all digital parts of the lock to work. You have to have an apple product that is IOS 10.5 or newer. It has physical keys too but the whole point of this product is to be digital. Secondly, It is high quality and VERY durable! It is very sturdy and the body of it is very thick. It does NOT scratch easily and you cannot really break it either. That's how well it is built. It is also easy to install. The instructions are very clear, and it is very straight forward and easy to figure out. This lock comes with all of the parts you will need to install it. It includes the lock itself, the bolts, the latches, a strike, a mounting plate, adapter ring, batteries, a battery pack and the physical keys to open it. It also has a smartkey tool as well. I love being able to control the lock from my phone. I can just ask siri to lock it, I can use the app or I can use the code to lock/unlock it. The app is great because it lets me have total control over the lock. You can assign up to 30 different codes to family, friends, or other people you trust. You will get a notification each time someone uses a code so you know who is entering your home. This is awesome because I like having peace of mind! Another thing is that this lock can be used for a business as well. It is one of those locks that you will feel good using at a business too because it's very high quality and since it gives you notifications, you will have peace of mind at a business as well. All in all, this smart lock is very, very nice. It gives me peace of mind when I am away from my home. And since it's easy to use, even my kids can use it! I highly recommend this lock to everyone. My children often forget their key to get into the house after school but I worry no more because they were both able to make their very own code to get into the house! That's right! You can set up your very own personalized code that you'll never forget to enter your home and set up codes for each family member as well! In all actuality, you don't even need to touch the touchscreen! You can simply ask Siri to unlock the door which makes for easy entry as well. This touchscreen smart lock is a dream! I'll admit that I was just a little intimidated with all of the contents inside of the Premis box, at first but I quickly realized it wasn't going to be difficult at all. Installation was simple as was the setup of the app and connections.

    How do I turn off SecureScreen function?

    Hello Wick999, Thank you for taking the time to contact us. SecureScreen is an added security feature that displays random digits before you enter a user code to unlock the door. This feature ensures that there are fingerprints on all digits so that codes cannot be identified by examining the touchscreen for fingerprints. If desired, this feature can be disabled inside the Premis app. On the lock home screen select settings icon on the bottom right. Once you click on the Gear icon you will see all the lock configuration settings. Toggle Secure Keypad Randomizer on/off. Sincerely, Kwikset Support Team

    Will this fit a 2-1/2 in thick door? I'm looking for a contemporary entry door lock that can be opened with an iPhone or touch pad (no buttons).

    How do I reset the code to something else?

To set up a user code you must be within Bluetooth range of the Premis. 1, Click on the people icon, on the bottom left side of the main screen of the app. 2, To add a user, tap the person icon with the plus sign on the top left side of your screen. 3, Type the name of the user. 4, Choose next on the keypad at the bottom of the screen. 5, Select a personal code or press the button to have the system generate a random code. 6, Then choose the submit. 7, Select user, select share code, then send it to them via text.     On my lock the touch screen is very sluggish... it does not wake up easily and once awake it seems like it will take 5-10 seconds to allow the lock button to work. Is there some setting that I am missing? Is this a dud unit? Or is this by design?

    How do I re set the digital code from construction to owner

    Hello Kym Schuller, Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We recommend that you reset the lock to clear out any previous user codes and enter your new user code. Start with removing the battery pack. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Continue to hold the Program button for 30 seconds, until the lock beeps and the status LED flashes red. Press the program button once more. When the status LED flashes green and you will hear one beep, the lock has been reset. Perform the handing process for the latch to extend and retract with the door in the open position.
