    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wise purchase We recently purchased 3 of these SmartCode locks and installed one on our front door, one to the basement and one to our cabin. The installation was pretty simple on the door that previously had a dead bolt. One door required preparation as it had not had a deadbolt. The convenience of being able to lock and unlock the doors without a key is the most positive reason to have these; because, we were always misplacing our keys!! We also like that we can set the deadbolt to atomically lock after a designated time while inside the house(this makes me feel more secure). We recommend this product highly.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install and manage with Vera The first lock I purchased didn't come with the Z-Wave module, but I purchased for $35. I installed the card in 30 seconds. I paired with my Vera Edge on the first try. I purchased an additional two locks and installed them in less than 10 min. each, including adding them into the Vera.I added PINs for each family member and it was smart enough to ask if I wanted to duplicate across all locks. Easily added to Scenes.Vera shows battery status, which is very helpful.One suggestion to users: make sure your door strike lines up properly; a miss-alignment can bind the lock. The lock attempts to lock three times; in my case one lock was out of alignment and required me to adjust the strike. No big deal, but if your lock attempts to fully engage multiple times...check the strike alignment.A VERY useful feature: you can re-key the new lock to your existing house key in less than a minute. Follow the simple instructions to save a trip and cost of re-keyingI strongly recommend.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lock, easy to use. I purchased this lock because I wanted a Z-Wave compatible lock for my home automation system on my Veralite. I am not very mechanical, however. To my delight, I found all of the instructions very clear, and it was an easy ten minute install.Using my VeraLite controller, I was able to set up individual codes for every member of the household -- no more teenagers losing keys! I was also able to program it to lock at certain times.I need to replace the batteries about every other month, and even that is very easy -- no tools required to get to the batteries.

Comes with additional knockout in case you're replacing a different size than then what's currently on the lock without leaving a gap. Batteries seem to last forever and the blinking lights make it easy to check to see if you've locked the door for the evening. Great thing is if you are away and company comes by and you're not home you can give them the code and they can let themselves in. Then if you want reset the code or leave it, it's up to you! Colored lights and sounds to let you know when things are good or bad. The quick key reset on all my locks makes it easy to use one key on all my doors and if you lose your keys then reset your own locks without involving a locksmith.

I had the installer come back ant we reprogram it again. it worked for about 10 days. I took it back to the dealer three times and could not get it to work. I called the help line and he worked with me and said that i had a bad one and he ordered a new one. I installed it and it works great i have not had any trouble with this one. If i ever need another one i will get another one

Works all the time and has a cool alarm if someone tries to enter bad codes it goes off for several seconds. Can hear that easily across the house. Have used Kwikset for so many years and can actually say they do raise the bar for price/quality ratio. Have yet to let me down 35 years of using them.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy install but burns through batteries to quick I purchased 2 of these locks mainly for the z-wave option. Locks installed quick and easy. I have to replace the batteries almost monthly for it to not report low battery troubles on my security system.

    The current key that came with my kwikset smart key zigbee deadbolt must be the wrong key it will not operate the dead bolt so I can change it to my new key, is there anyone that could help me.? The key that I do have has a five stamped on it,

We apologize for the inconvenience you have encountered with your lock.Below you will find some trouble shooting steps to reset your cylinder.1st: Insert the last key that you tried to program to the unit.2nd: Pull the key out a notch at a time and try to turn it at the same time to the quarter turn position to the right.3rd: If the key turns to the quarter turn position, insert your smart key tool and then remove your key.4th: Remove the key and Insert the key that came with the box and turn it back to vertical at 12 o'clock.5th: Then re-do the re-keying steps that came with the box.If further assistance is needed please contact Kwikset Residental Access at 1-866-863-6584.Thank you,Kwikset Support Team

    How do I reset all codes?

    Hello TonyBelk,Thank you for your interest in the SmartCode Zigbee Deadbolt model# 910TRL ZW 15 SMT. A factory reset will delete all codes associate with the lock. To perform a factory reset please remove the battery pack, press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Keep holding the button for 30 seconds until the lock beeps an the status LED flashes red. Next press the Program button once more. When the LED flashes green and you hear one beep, the lock has been reset. Perform the door handing process again. See step 10 in the Installation Guide.
