My functioning key will not turn the deadbolt 1/4 to allow me to rekey the new key (it did allow me to rekey the knob). What do I do?
Hello Kam,Below you will find some trouble shooting steps to reset your cylinder.1st: Insert the last key that you tried to program to the unit.2nd: Pull the key out a notch at a time and try to turn it at the same time to the quarter turn position to the right.3rd: If the key turns to the quarter turn position, insert your smart key tool and then remove your key.4th: Remove the key and Insert the key that came with the box and turn it back to vertical at 12 o'clock.5th: Then re-do the re-keying steps that came with the box.If further assistance is needed please contact Kwikset technical support at 1-800-327-5625.Thank you,Kwikset Support

Can the keys from Polo deadbolts be used to re-key Smartkey deadbolts? In other words are Smartkey keys different from other Kwikset key that are supplied with non Smartkey deadbolts?
