KWIKSET® HONORED WITH TOP RANKINGS IN HOME SECURITY
SmartKey Deadbolt and SmartCode Electronic Locks Offer Best in Convenience and Safety LAKE FOREST, Calif.
– May 19, 2011
– Kwikset®, the authority in residential lock systems, is proud to announce it’s SmartKey® Signature Series Deadbolt and it’s SmartCode™ Deadbolt received top ratings as two of the top three rated door locks by Consumer Reports in the Standard and Electronic lock categories, respectively. Consumer Reports’ June 2011 Lock Ratings have been released as Kwikset and the nation prepare to enter National Safety Month in June.
“Kwikset is delighted to have earned the honor of high performance rankings from the prestigious Consumer Reports,” said Brent Flaharty, President, Kwikset. “Adding to previous honors from Consumer Reports, Kwikset continues in our commitment to quality. Our SmartKey re-key technology and SmartCode products deliver uncompromised security that boasts an enduring legacy of modern home security. ”
After conducting a national survey count on deadbolt locks, Consumer Reports found that 67 percent of respondents count on deadbolt locks to help keep their homes secure. Kwikset SmartKey deadbolts protect against lock bumping by featuring, BumpGuard™, a patented side-locking bar technology, central to the locks’ ability to be rapidly and easily rekeyed. Delivering outstanding strength and protection, SmartKey deadbolts and locks have passed the most stringent lock picking standard, UL 437, par. 11.6.
Kwikset SmartCode products are quick and easy to install, requiring no hardwiring. The SmartCode electronic locks allow homeowners to program a personal code between four and eight digits on the lock’s touchpad. Homeowners can also assign a temporary code to multiple users with the ability to delete and reprogram as needed. This feature makes it easy to provide a babysitter, pet sitter or housekeeper access to the home for a short period of time without putting its long-term security at risk. And for additional peace of mind and security, SmartCode products feature SmartKey re-key technology as the back-up keyway.
In addition to their recognition from Consumer Reports, Kwikset has been named a Consumer’s Digest Best Buy and has recently earned a Golden Hammer Award from Home Channel News. The Golden Hammer celebrates the best in home improvement retailing and is awarded to home channel retailers at the National Hardware Show for their innovative focus and shine.
