SmartKey and SmartCode Series Offer Best in Convenience and Home Security LAKE FOREST, Calif.
– April 20, 2011
– Today, Kwikset®, the authority in residential lock systems, is proud to announce it has been honored with two 2011 Awards for Design and Excellence by ADEX. Kwikset received a platinum award for its SmartKey® Signature Series Deadbolt, and was recognized with a Gold award for the SmartCode™ Lever.
“Kwikset is honored to accept the Platinum ADEX award for our SmartKey Signature Series Deadbolt with BumpGuard™ and the Gold ADEX Award for the SmartCode Lever,” said Brent Flaharty, President, Kwikset. “Our SmartKey re-key technology and SmartCode products are exciting advancements in residential security and we look forward to continuing to provide smart and simple security options to families across America.”
Kwikset SmartKey Deadbolts protect against lock bumping by featuring, BumpGuard, a patented side-locking bar technology, central to the locks’ ability to be rapidly and easily re-keyed. Delivering outstanding strength and protection, SmartKey Deadbolts and Locks have passed the most stringent lock picking standard, UL 437, par. 11.6.
Kwikset SmartCode products are quick and easy to install, requiring no hardwiring. The SmartCode electronic lever allows homeowners to program a personal code between four and eight digits on the lock’s touchpad. Homeowners can also assign a temporary code to multiple users with the ability to delete and reprogram as needed. This feature makes it easy to provide a babysitter, dog watcher or house cleaner access to the home for a short period of time without putting its long-term security at risk. And for additional peace of mind and security, SmartCode products feature SmartKey re-key technology as the back-up keyway.
