KWIKSET® AND NATIONAL CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP FOUNDED ON SAFETY
Common Goals of Security and Crime Prevention Unite Two Leading Organizations LAKE FOREST, Calif.
– Mar. 1, 2011
– Kwikset®, the leader in innovative residential door hardware, announces its sponsorship of the nation's leader in crime safety, the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), combining nearly 90 years of experience in the security and protection of homes, families and communities.
“We could not be more elated to join forces with the National Crime Prevention Council, one of the most reputable and recognizable associations that shares a common goal with Kwikset – promoting home safety and security,” said Brent Flaharty, Vice President of Marketing. “We are eager to collaborate on a variety of projects and events throughout 2011 to ultimately aid Americans’ awareness of security and crime prevention in hopes to affect a behavioral change for the better.”
“The National Crime Prevention Council is privileged to have Kwikset on board as an active partner and a powerful voice of authority on home safety,” said Anne Harkins, President and CEO, National Crime Prevention Council. “On behalf of the entire organization, I look forward to working closely with Kwikset to develop and implement programs that will help the public reduce crime and increase the safety of their homes and families.”
Throughout 2011, Kwikset and NCPC will collaborate to empower Americans with practical knowledge and useful resources to help improve their safety and security. To demonstrate and present home security and safety to the public, Kwikset will provide SmartKey Security Kits to NCPC’s network of crime prevention practitioners. The kits contain a Kwikset SmartKey deadbolt to demo SmartKey® re-key technology, a SmartKey security poster, a DVD with tutorial videos, informative brochures, and home safety tips bookmarks for kids.
In February, Kwikset will launch the cross-country Smart Security Mobile Tour, which will include hundreds of designated locations where communities can come together and learn about smart and simple home security solutions. The NCPC and McGruff the Crime Dog® will be an integral part of the Smart Security Tour and the Community Outreach events accompanying the tour. Some stops along the tour will even include a live appearance from McGruff the Crime Dog.
