How do I clean or polish my lockset?

After installation of the hardware, gently rub off any excess oil that remains on the exterior components using a clean dry terry towel or cheesecloth. A non-abrasive paste car wax can be applied to the lock.  Liquid graphite or sewing machine oil can be sprayed into the cylinder (key way) and the latch. Use of other commercial lubricants not recommended.

For Oil Rubbed Bronze we recommend using “3 in one” oil. If you wish to restore some of the finishes' original luster, simply apply some furniture wax.  It is important to note that this activity will only affect the areas that have not started to wear.
