A professional lock-picking competition showcasing the superior pick-resistance of Kwikset® SmartKey® deadbolts versus Schlage® SecureKey™ deadbolts.
At this year’s locksmith convention Kwikset hosted the first-ever Smart Challenge. A 3-day, head-to-head, lock picking competition between their SmartKey deadbolt– versus - the Schlage Secure Key deadbolt.
Kwikset aimed to show which lock really lived up to the claim of being UL 437 pick-resistant compliant by putting them to the test against 56 locksmiths from across the country.
The locks were purchased by a third-party and the locksmiths were selected on a first-come, first-serve basis for the competition.
Anyone who could pick the SmartKey lock in under 10 minutes would win $5000.
